Summer 2008
Heirloom Tomato Tasting - more than 70 varieties - will be held on Saturdays August 23rd and 30th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. It's a casual arrangement so stop by anytime on those days, wander over to TomatoLand, pick up a plate and fork and start tasting. Bring your family and friends for a tasty summer snack. It's totally free! Vote for your favorites and we will have those available next year if you want to grow your own.
While you're here, check out the shrubs and trees - all are 40% off - and blooming perennials - at 50% off. Fall is a good time to plant these, the weather is not scorching hot and there's ample time for them to get used to their new location before winter arrives. Tropical plants and house plants are 50% off also and are a great mood-lifter in the winter. Plus, they give off oxygen making a healthier winter environment!
Hardy Belgium mums are ready. We have 29 colors in two sizes. Early varieties start blooming at the end of August and late varieties bloom in October. And the rest bloom in between. Lots of colors to choose from - white, yellow, orange, pink, lavender, purple, red and maroon.
About the House, purveyor of old and antique house and garden items has had a great year in our barn. Old windows, doors and gates, garden tools, watering cans, wheelbarrows, wagons, porch chairs and swings have gone out the door to new homes. Most items will go back to their winter store after August, some items will be available for sale here, but a major stock of items won't be available here again until March.
